Notebook Maker is shareware (see note 1 below). Notebook Maker and the Notebooks or Command Sets you create with it may only be distributed in accordance with the conditions listed below.
1) If you use Notebook Maker to create Notebooks for your personal use alone, the registration fee is either one (1) audio Compact Disk or US$20.
Send us a compact disk of some of your favourite music (rap excluded please). It doesn't have to be new (and thus expensive) music, just something you like. If this is a hassle, send us US$20 instead — VISA, American Express and Mastercard accepted. When registering please include your:
Name, Company name
Delivery Address
Telephone Number, Fax Number
CompuServe/AppleLink/Internet email addresses
and if you're paying by credit card:
Card Type, Card Number, Expiration Date, Card Holders Name
Card Batch Number (for American Express cards)
If you don't think Notebook Maker warrants this registration fee, please write (or e-mail) and tell us why.
2) You may distribute this version of Notebook Maker, unaltered, to anyone you wish. No charge may be levied for this program, nor may it be included as part of any package sold for profit without express authorization from the author. It may be distributed freely via BBS's and other electronic data services that do not explicitly charge for file downloads, that is, do not charge a per file rate as opposed to a per hour rate.
This includes, but is not limited, to services such as Compuserve, America Online, Genie, and the public access InterNet sites such as sumex-aim.stanford.edu. Further, no service or distributor may attach additional restrictions to this program or to its distribution. This software must be distributed unmodified, and complete with documentation.
Permission for distribution is granted to:

Pacific HiTech, Inc. (Info-Mac CD-ROM)
Please inform us that Notebook Maker is to be included on any of these CD-ROM products so that we may order an ‘authors’ copy.
3) Companies selling collections of shareware software may NOT include Notebook Maker as a part of their collection without the prior consent of Golden Micro Solutions.
4) If you personally use Notebook Maker to create Notebooks for non-commercial distribution to other people (students, employees etc—less than 20 copies of a given Notebook) the registration fee is US$25.
5) If you are a 4th Dimension® external developer, and if you produce a Command Set file for your externals, email a copy to Golden Micro Solutions for distribution with Commander. If you do this, the file will be distributed to Commander users, and the Notebook Maker registration fee will be waived (see also number 6 below).
6) 4th Dimension® developers who have purchased ‘Commander’ (also by Golden Micro Solutions) already have a registered copy of Notebook Maker. Notebook Maker is distributed free of charge with all purchased copies of ‘Commander’.
7) Educational institutions wishing to widely distribute Notebooks (i.e. more than 20 copies of a given Notebook), or companieswanting to use Notebook Maker to create Notebooks for commercial distribution (with or without other software/hardware), please contact Golden Micro Solutions for licensing information.
